Murphy Surveys Invests in Leica RTC360 - 04/07/2018
Murphy Surveys has announced that they have invested in the world's first 3D laser scanner with automatic in-field pre-registration, the Leica RTC360. The technology was announced at HxGN Live, Hexagon’s annual digital technology conference in Las Vegas and simultaneously at a UK launch event at Hexagon’s UK Headquarters in Milton Keynes. The survey company are the first to invest in the new scanner in the UK and Ireland.
“We have continued over the years to partner with some of the world’s leading technology companies, striving to deliver the best possible service to our clients.” said Colin Murphy, Director, Murphy Surveys. “Leica Geosystems has been with us throughout this journey and when the new scanner was launched, we instantly recognised it as a game changer for our service offering. Its ultra-high performance makes it twice as fast than any other scanner, allowing us to capture more data than ever before, and its ability to pre-register captured scans in the field will allow us decrease processing time and deliver data to our clients much quicker.”
“The scanner is intelligent and knows exactly where it is. Using VIS (visual inertial system) cameras to track 3D coordinates of features, like the edges of a door, the floor, or a window, therefore tracking position as the surveyor moves within a room, between rooms, or even between floors, enabling us to do our job faster, easier and with greater accuracy.” continued Murphy.
The new scanners will be supplied through SCCS and will augment Murphy Surveys’ existing fleet of laser scanners. They will be integrated into their service offering in July. For more information, contact +44(0)203 598 3775 or firstname.lastname@example.org.Last updated: 16/07/2018
