Bluesky Signs Aerial Mapping Contract with Ordnance Survey Ireland

Aerial mapping company Bluesky has signed up Ireland’s National Mapping Agency as an exclusive reseller for the public sector market. The agreement between Bluesky and Ordnance Survey Ireland covers the provision of the highest resolution, most up to date aerial photography for the Republic of Ireland, together with associated 3D height products. Under the terms of the agreement Ordnance Survey Ireland, with support from Bluesky, will exclusively licence Bluesky’s Ireland products to public sector organisations such as local councils, central government departments and executive agencies. Bluesky Aerial Laser Survey Reveals Hidden Bronze-age Archaeology

Lidar is being employed to reveal the hidden archaeology of a Bronze-age hill settlement in Lancashire, England. Visually, the archaeological features are very difficult to see, but the Bluesky laser survey, commissioned by the Morecambe Bay Partnership, is expected to reveal previously undiscovered details of the settlement at Warton Crag. Bluesky Captures Ultra-high-resolution Aerial Survey of Dublin

Aerial mapping company Bluesky Ireland has captured the first-ever 12.5cm-resolution aerial photography coverage of the whole of the Greater Dublin area. Hexagon’s Geosystems division has announced that Aero Photo Europe Investigation (APEI), an international aerial survey firm headquartered in Moulins, France, has become the first customer to purchase the Leica CityMapper-2 oblique imaging and Lidar hybrid airborne sensor. The Norwegian government recently announced comprehensive measures to combat the spread of the coronavirus, effective immediately. As a result, all travellers to Norway from non-Nordic countries who do not have a residence permit will most likely have to immediately leave the country again or be placed in quarantine for 14 days. In response, and due to the highly dynamic development of the coronavirus pandemic, the MOSAiC project management has decided to temporarily suspend the aerial survey campaigns planned for this spring and based in the Svalbard archipelago, which is under Norwegian administration. Bluesky International has completed a detailed aerial survey of Ireland. The company has now acquired full aerial coverage of the Republic of Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales. Members of the European Association of Aerial Surveying Industries (EAASI) came together for a virtual meeting to question two of the industry’s leading sensor manufacturers about their recent acquisitions of large aerial survey companies and the potential impact on the wider industry. Bluesky Aerial Photography Helps Economic Growth

High resolution aerial photography from Bluesky is helping Darlington Borough Council produce plans of Council owned land, in order to promote growth and development in the North East of England authority.
