Operational Intelligence (OI) was the topic for a breakfast meeting at a restaurant near the top or London’s iconic Gherkin tower. The hosts were Esri UK, who had invited three of their customers to join a roundtable discussion with a group of journalists. Esri Maps Reveal Impacts from Nepal Earthquakes

The 2015 Nepal earthquake (also referred to as the Himalayan earthquake) occurred at 11:56 NST on 25 April with a magnitude of 7.8. Its epicentre was approximately 21 milies east-southeast of Lamjung, Nepal, and its hypocentre was at a depth of approximately 9.3 miles. It is the most powerful disaster to strike Nepal since the 1934 Nepal–Bihar earthquake. Collaboration and Big Data - ISPRS Geospatial Week 2017

Ian Dowman reports on the ISPRS Geospatial Week (GSW) giving a good indication of current developments in photogrammetry, remote sensing and spatial information science and the way in which this is progressing in China. ISPRS has now established the GSW as a regular biennial event. This year it was held at Wuhan in China, hosted by LIESMARS, the geomatics centre at Wuhan University.
