Bluesky Completes Project to Laser Map East Anglia and the South East

Bluesky has completed a multi-million-pound aerial mapping project to assess the impact of vegetation on the electricity network of East Anglia and the South East of England. Working on behalf of UK Power Networks, They undertook the largest ever combined laser mapping and aerial photography survey commissioned by an electricity distribution network operator in the UK – some 34,000 square kilometres. Rise in Sales for Both Paper and Digital OS Maps

Sales of both paper and digital maps from Ordnance Survey (OS) have grown in the last 12 months. During the 2017/18 financial year, sales of its paper maps grew by 7%, with 1.73 million maps sold. The continuing popularity of traditional maps has accompanied a dramatic rise in subscriptions for the OS Maps app. Active subscriptions to OS Maps rose by 94% over the same period. Myriota to Open AU$2.7 Million IoT Lab

Satellite communications startup Myriota will open a ‘Internet of Things’ (IoT) laboratory in Adelaide after winning a Future Funds Grant from South Australia. Under the terms of the grant, the government will match Myriota’s $1.36 million investment to open the Adelaide facility, which they claim will create 50 new jobs in the state for software and hardware developers, and data networking and satellite communications professionals.
